Bhubaneswar: An exclusive Tribal World outlet showcasing the rich and varied tribal culture and products was inaugurated at the domestic terminal of Biju Patnaik International Airport here in Bhubaneswar on Thursday. Looking at the growing trend of such products in the domestic as well as international markets the state government aims to popularise the unique products of tribal Odisha especially the Soura and Gondh paintings, handicrafts and handloom items from Santhal, Kandha and other tribal communities.
The Tribal Development Co-operative Corporation of Odisha (TDCCOL) responsible for the exclusive marketing of NonTimber Forest Produce (NTFP) and processed products, Surplus Agriculture Produce (SAP), Handicrafts and Handloom products have been successfully running 5 similar outlets in different parts of the State. A Tribal World Souvenir shop is going to be opened shortly in Bhubaneswar city, sources added. It also proposes to open 10 more Tribal World outlets in PPP mode is proposed at different places of Odisha.
