Bhubaneswar: To boost Odisha Tourism in the world market the State had participated in World Tourism Market held in London from Nov 7 to 9 to showcase and promote state’s tourism and attract more foreign tourists.
Union Minister, Tourism & Culture Mahesh Sharma inaugurated the Odisha Tourism stall in the presence of Ashok Chandra Panda, Odisha Tourism & Culture Minister along with other dignitaries.
India has been partner country as well as focus country in the World Tourism Market this year. So keeping that in view, Odisha Tourism took the opportunity to attract more tourists from Europe. Internationally acclaimed sand artist Sudarshan Pattanaik was the star attraction in the market. Odisha conducted B2B meetings, invited potential tour operators, agents, media houses and journalists to interact on state tourism products and destination sites.
The state showcased potential tourists sites such as World Heritage Site at Konark, Golden Triangle of Bhubaneswr-Puri-Konark, Buddhist Circuit, Bhitarkanika-Similipal and Chilika. Officials also held discussions to attract more tourists for various destinations beaches, tribal, religious and eco-tourism in the state.
