Bhubaneswar: A preparatory meeting for the upcoming One Day International (ODI) cricket match against England to be played on January 19, 2017 at Barabati Stadium was held at Revenue Divisional Commissioner (RDC) office on Tuesday. RDC A. B. Otta chaired the meeting in presence of officials from the Orissa Cricket Association (OCA) and other senior functionaries of the district administration.
Talking to reporters after the meeting RDC A. B. Otta said spectators will be not allowed to take water bottles inside the Barabati Stadium premises during the ODI cricket match to be played on January 19, 2017. He also informed that the spectators will be provided drinking water inside the stadium. The decision was taken keeping in view of the past disruption during a match between India and South Africa, added Otta.
According to sources, to tighten the security the organisers of the match have decided to hire private security guards apart from police personnel. Moreover, 132 CCTV cameras will be installed in the stadium to take care of all security measures.
OCA Secretary Ashirbad Behera informed that tickets for the match will be made available to different athletic organistions on January 14 and 15. While tickets for general public will be made available on January 16 and 17. It was further decided in the meeting that one person can buy two tickets only.
