Bhubaneswar: At a high level review meeting chaired by the Odisha Chief Secretary J K Mohapatra reviewed the restoration work of the cyclone affected areas of Ganjam district of the State. According to the energy secretary P K Jena power supply has been restored to around 87 percent of the affected consumers. He also expressed to reach 90 percent of restoration y the end of the day. Jena added that supply has been resumed to all gram panchayats of 10 blocks. More than 85 percent gram panchayats in remaining 12 blocks have been restored with power supply. Similarly, out of 22 towns affected, 24 hours power supply has been resumed in 17 towns and 4 more towns will be connected by the day end. Out of total 5,51,381 consumers power supply has been resumed to around 4,80,000 consumers. All the ATMs in Berhampur and other towns town have been connected with power. Power supply has also been resumed to 34 hospitals. He also mentioned that on an average near about 15000 to 18000 consumers are being restored with power supply. Available data shows that a total 49 numbers of 33 KV feeders affected in the cyclone in Ganjam district alone all 49 covering 430.56 kms have been restored and out of total 169 affected 11KV feeders 162 covering more than 3693 kms. have been restored. Under Lower Tension line network the affected length was 6449.95 kms out of which more than 4990 kms have been restored.
