Bhubaneswar: Odisha Administration is on its final-leg of preparations on President of India, Pranab Mukherjee’s two day visit to the State. Chief Secretary Jugal Kishore Mohapatra reviewed the preparations at a meeting held in the secretariat here in Bhubaneswar and ordered that since it is the rainy season all arrangements should be made accordingly.
President Mukherjee is scheduled to arrive at Bhubaneswar during afternoon hours of 6th September, 2013 and according to his itinerary proceed to Puri and make an overnight stay at Rajbhawan, Puri. Adequate arrangements have been made with the Puri Raj Bhawan getting a facelift on the occasion of the President’s visit.
President Mukherjee is slated to have a darshan of the deities at the Sri Jagannath temple and return to Bhubaneswar to attend the second convocation of Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) at noon. He is also scheduled to address Annual Convocation of the Bharatiya Vidya Bhawan Center for Communication & Management and also dedicate the Bhawan’s library to the people of Bhubaneswar. The President will make his departure from Bhubaneswar to Delhi on the same evening. It is known from the sources that Annual Convocation of Bharatiya Vidya Bhawan will be arranged in XIMB auditorium and the Second Convocation of IIT, Bhubaneswar will be held in auditorium of the Institute of Minerals and Mineral Technology ( IMMT) Bhubaneswar.
The State government has also directed concerned departments to stay alert and keep strict vigil over the entire process meticulously so as to make the darshan of President at Puri Temple seamless and hassle free. The authorities of the concerned institutions have been advised to liaison with home and police department regarding regulation of crowd and gathering at the meeting places.
