Odisha Ace Sprinter Dutee Chand Qualifies for Rio Olympics 2016

Bhubaneswar: Fighting relentlessly against all odds Dutee Chand finally made her place in the Indian contingent to represent the country in Rio Olympics 2016 starting from August 5 to 21.

Dutee ran in the women’s 100m heats of the 26th G. Kosanov memorial meet at Kazakhstan on Saturday and clocked 11.30 secs, creating a new national record and qualifying for the Rio Olympics. The qualifying mark for Rio de Janeiro Olympics was set at 11.32 seconds which Chand finished comfortably

Dutee qualifies for the 100 m sprint in Olympics after PT Usha who represented India in 1980.
