OCA Plays Safe after CBI Probe Asks Players to Submit Affidavit of Age Proof

Cuttack: On the day when the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) is questioning Under-16 and Under-19 players of Odisha over the age row issue, Odisha Cricket Association (OCA) Secretary, Asirbad Behera has informed that from this current playing season cricketers will have to submit affidavits as proof of age. Behera also said that the affidavits as age proof are being sought from players as the decision has been taken by Board of Control for Cricket (BCCI).

Recently, the Sports Integrity Unit of CBI had started an enquiry over the complaint against players for forging age related documents to get into the team. Since OCA, Cuttack District Athletic Association and 34 players are alleged to be involved in this manipulation so the CBI questioned the players today at the Barabati Stadium.

Following the age row issue and questioning by CBI the OCA Secretary Behera came out with the affidavit solution as a face saver.
