Bhubaneswar: The two-day national conference on labour welfare was kick started here in Bhubaneswar on Tuesday. Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik inaugurated the meet in presence of Union Labour and Employment Minister Bandaru Dattatreya. The conference is organised by State government in association with International Labour Organization (ILO).
Labour Ministers of all the States, Secretaries, Labour Commissioners, Chairpersons of Labour Boards will participate in the discussions. Several Issues on skill development of labour forces, child labour prohibition and steps to be taken in the light of new Child Labour Act will be discussed in the sessions to be held in two days.
Others present during the inaugural session were Union Labour and Employment Secretary Shankar Aggarwal, Odisha State Chief Secretary Aditya Prasad Padhi, ILO India Director Panudda Boonpal.
