Bhubaneswar: Last evening Santosh Patra (Tulu) the surviving sibling of Ananga Manjari Patra former manager of Parlakhemundi Maharaja admitted at the MKCG Medical College and Hospital in Berhampur, after attempting suicide, also died undergoing treatment. Earlier police had recovered the bodies of Anang Manjari Patra, Bijailaxmi and Sanjay Patra from their house. Since Tulu happened to be the only key eyewitness to the incident it is a setback for the investigating team as they were waiting to record his statement.
In the mean time a six-member team of the Special Investigation Team (SIT) led by an officer of the rank of Addl SP of the state Crime Branch have visited the Parlakhemundi Maharaja’s Palace and begun investigations of the mysterious suicidal deaths of the former manager of the palace and her siblings.
According to sources, the investigating team is probing various aspects of the four suicidal deaths and the circumstances which led the four to take such a drastic step. Five-members of the State forensic laboratory are also at the spot collecting vital evidences for forensic tests as a part of the investigation.
Sources added that Amulya Patra another sibling of Ananga Manjari Patra, has filed an FIR against seven persons including a private news channel alleging that these persons directly or indirectly tried to bring disrepute to his sister Ananga Manjari Patra and others which led them to take the drastic step of committing suicide.
Since the FIR has been filed, investigators will also have to take cognizance of it and examine other evidences especially the suicide notes and diary recovered from the scene to proceed with the investigation, sources said.
