Bhubaneswar: Greenfield Electronics Park being developed by Industrial Infrastructure Development Corporation (IDCO) Odisha is said to house 100 Units of electronics manufacturing cluster with state of the art, infrastructure and common facilities. It is spread over an area of 203 acres within InfoValley in the outskirts of Bhubaneswar city. The plan mooted in 2014 has be developed by a Singapore based consultant Jurong Consultants and got its nod from the Union Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology recently after a meeting was held between the officials of the state government and the Secretary of the Union Electronics & IT ministry.
According to the plan, core infrastructure like road, provision of power and water etc. for the park is likely to be ready soon and the State government expects an investment of around Rs 1000 crores in the near future. State government is said to have allocated Rs 110 crores along with the central assistance of Rs 95 crore for developing 203 acres of land in the village Larapur and Durgapur in Khurdha district.
According to sources, the project envisages to create an attractive environment for Electronics manufacturing industry in the State and also boost employment opportunities for the youth in Odisha.
The Electronics Park proposes ready-to-use plug-and-play facilities with excellent transport connectivity. Sources added that for this purpose the state government considered Bhubaneswar as an ideal location for the park along with the fact that there will be greater availability of skilled manpower passing out from reputed technical and management institutions located in the city. The city also promotes its smart city tag to woo investors as the emerging most preferred cities in the country to live in and do business in eastern India.
