Bhubaneswar: A vigilance probe was ordered by Odisha CM Naveen Patnaik on Tuesday after 4 Biju Janata Dal (BJD) MLAs were caught in a sting operation conducted by a local TV news channel. The MLAs were seen seeking bribe from people posing as industrialists and also help them get no objection certificates and set up industries in their constituencies.
The four BJD MLAs caught on camera are Bhawanipatna MLA Anam Nayak , Chhendipada MLA Susant Kumar Behera, Hindol MLA Seemarani Nayak and Karanjia MLA Bijay Kumar Nayak.
CM Patnaik said to media persons that “I have ordered a Vigilance inquiry into the entire matter. Let’s await its results”. Confirming to have received a probe order from the government Vigilance Director Dr R. P. Sharma said a meeting will be held today to work out the modalities of the investigation and also constituting an investigation team.
