SIT Questions Parlakhemundi King’s Daughter; Suicide Notes of Deceased Names Influential People

Bhubaneswar: After 5 days have lapsed since the incident of suicide of the former palace manager and her siblings took place, the crime branch Special Investigation Team (SIT) has made little progress so far in the case. In the meanwhile Kalyani Gajapati, the daughter of Parlakhemundi King Gopinath Gajapati Narayan Deb, who lives in Chennai, visited Parlakhemundi. The SIT is said to have questioned her about the mysterious suicide of her Father’s former palace manager Ananga Manjai Patra and her three siblings. The investigators have also enquired about the health of the Gajapati.

Prior to that Kalyani was welcomed by her supporters on Thursday evening in the town. She had also offered prayers at the local Jagannath temple. Kalyani is said to have also met local government officials and discussed about the upkeep of the Jagannath temple.

On the other hand sources reveal that the suicide notes of Ananga Manjari Patra, the former palace manager of the King Gopinath Gajapati Narayan Deb and her siblings has said to have named the local sitting MLA, leaders of other political parties and a local TV channel. The siblings have mentioned in their suicide notes the circumstances which forced them to take the extreme step as they were humiliated and their image was tarnished, sources added. Another sources said that the suicide notes will be send to handwriting experts to verify its authenticity.

The crime branch SIT is also likely to question those named in the suicide note, a highly placed source revealed.
