PM Modi meets Indian Athletes for 2016 Rio Olympics

New Delhi: PM Narendra Modi today met over 60 athletes who will participate at the Rio Olympic Games to be held in Brazil. PM Modi met each athlete individually and encouraged them to perform to the best of their ability in the world’s biggest sporting arena.

Several former Olympians including MC Mary Kom, Anju Bobby George and P. Gopichand were among those present at the gathering. Over 100 Indian athletes from 13 different disciplines have qualified to represent India in the Rio Olympics to be held in August this year.

The Union Minister of State for Youth Affairs and Sports Dr. Jitendra Singh was also present on the occasion.
