Odisha State Board Creates History with 75.99 Pass Percentage

Cuttack: The Board of Secondary Education (BSE) today declared the results of the High School Certificate (HSC) Examination 2013. The result booklet was unveiled by Mass Education Minister Rabi Narayan Nanda and Board president Dakhya Prasad Nanda.

According to BSE this year the HSC examinations has recorded a total pass percentage of 73.11 while 75.99 per cent regular students have passed in the examination. Notably, maximum regular pass percentage of 86.97 was recorded by students from Balasore district and on the contrary Nuapada district scored the lowest of 51.3 regular pass percentage. Moreover, students appearing as ex-regular candidates have recorded 48.81 pass percentage.

On this occasion congratulating the students the Mass Education Minister said that the BSE results this year has created history by registering regular pass percentage of 75.99. He also added that the BSE hopes to conduct the supplementary examinations in the month of May.

According to sources a total of 1,05,148 students passed the examination in first division while 1,27,209 students cleared the test in second division. Likewise 1,53,202 have passed in third division. And 1,21,863 students were unsuccessful to clear the examination.

The HSC examination was held from February 25 to March 9 and around 6 lakh students had appeared in the test. The BSE has not published the much-awaited top 100 list this year, a decision taken by the Mass Education Department earlier.
