Odisha Health Minister Visits Cholera Hit Rayagada

Bhubaneswar: Health minister Atanu Sabyasachi Nayak today held a meeting with the district collector and other concerned officials at the Rayagada and reviewed the deteriorating cholera situation. After the meeting minister Nayak directed the district authorities ensure 24-hour healthcare and drinking water supply in the disease affected areas.

The death toll in Palama Panchayat of Kalyansinghpur block has risen to 5 after one death was reported today.

Namita Mohapatra, director Regional Medical Research Centre (RMRC) also confirmed the occurrence of cholera death in Kalyansinghpur block in Rayagada district after tests revealed presence of the bacteria. She also said that RMRC representative will visit the affected village soon to take stock of the situation.
