Odisha BJD MLA Seeks Anticipatory Bail from HC over Alleged Links with Chit Fund Company

Bhubaneswar: In the latest development over alleged links with Artha Tatwa (AT) group the Chit Fund Company under CBI scanner, Pravat Kumar Tripathy the BJD MLA from Banki approached Orissa High Court seeking anticipatory bail.

Talking to a news agency BJD leader Tripathy said, CBI had already raided his residence and apprehended that he may be arrested. He moved to court seeking anticipatory bail to avoid further humiliation and arrest, he added. Notably, earlier CBI had also raided the house of his close associate Subash Padhy a local BJD leader of Banki in this connection.

The recent arrest and raids carried out in the offices and residence of two local media house owners by the CBI has shaken Tripathy. It has already been alleged that MLA Tripathy had taken money from the tainted AT group CMD Pradeep Sethy for the celebration of “Banki Mahotsav” in his constituency.
