BJP Demands Action against BJD legislator for Attack on Party Worker in Khurdha

Bhubaneswar: In another case of a Biju Janata Dal (BJD) legislator from Begunia assaulting a Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) worker the BJP condemned the incident here on Thursday. The BJP State Secretary Jatin Mohanty said that “the BJD MLA was recently seen assaulting BJP workers at Manamunda in Boudh and Puri. FIRs have been lodged against Jagdev, but he is yet to be arrested by police”.

A BJP team will visit Taratua in Khordha and probe into the incident that happened there yesterday, he added.

Already a case has been registered against MLA Jagdev yesterday at Khurdha Town police station for allegedly assaulting BJP party worker Sheikh Nijamuddin Khan of Taratua during a save Mahanadi protest at Saradhapur crossing.

But Jagdev on the contrary refused the allegations and alleged that Nijamuddin had abused him in inebriated condition while he was leading a procession. Jagdev’s driver later filed an FIR against Nijamuddin in the local police station.
